George Eastman Museum

George Eastman House will use its grant to design, test, and begin implementation of a multimedia interactive exhibition titled “Out of the Box: Toward a New History of Photography.” This new core experience will draw from the permanent collections of the George Eastman House, incorporating photographs, motion pictures, technology, preservation, and historic process demonstrations to provide visitors with an entirely new museum experience and enable them to view the exhibition through the lens of history, culture, science, art, and more. George Eastman House will invite audience input and feedback for testing and refinement of all elements of the exhibition, which will be rotated or replaced based on evaluation results.
