Brookfield Zoo

The Chicago Zoological Society will create “My Water Footprint,” a Web site that will use geospatial, whole-earth visualization systems to educate visitors about where they live, their interactions with water, and how they are connected to watersheds. In addition, “My Water Footprint” will track individual actions taken to reduce water usage throughout the Great Lakes region and provide an evaluation tool that will help zoos and aquaria measure their impact on conservation behavior among visitors. Through this site, the Chicago Zoological Society hopes to build a constituency of advocates for local water conservation and watershed protection and restoration throughout the Great Lakes region.
