Texas State Preservation Board

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (TSHM) is developing a special exhibition, titled “Texas Music Road Trip,” featuring Texas’s role as a cultural crossroads that has given birth to a rich and unexpected musical environment. The project’s focus on Texas music history affords the museum an opportunity to interpret Texas history while fulfilling a community need for a music-related and family friendly tourist destination. TSHM’s project partner, the Center for Texas Music History, Texas State University-San Marcos (CTMH), is the only comprehensive, university-based program devoted to the preservation and study of Texas’s musical heritage.
