South Texas Institute For the Arts

The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) will augment and expand the Youth Program Initiative, a mission-based program designed to serve youth from preschool through high school. The initiative provides art education, literacy, and technological skill-building through the presentation of pieces from the museum’s permanent collection. The program aims to engage children’s interest in South Texas culture while providing educators tools to enrich school curricula. The programs will be developed and expanded to work with urban and rural school districts, private- and home-schooled students, and, through outreach, to the underserved population of Corpus Christi. Additionally, bilingual outreach to the Hispanic community through target marketing will aid in serving the South Texas community and assist in reaching a wider constituency.
