Weeksville Heritage Center

The Society for the Preservation of Weeksville and Bedford-Stuyvesant History, a.k.a. Weeksville Heritage Center (WHC), will design, fabricate, and install a visitor orientation exhibition titled “Defining a Sense of Place.” This interactive exhibition will orient visitors to the campus and present information about the historic Weeksville community and the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses. Through objects from WHC’s collection and digital interactive timeline, maps, and oral histories, the exhibition will immerse the visitor in the positive contributions everyday African Americans have made to the development of Brooklyn and the United States. “Defining a Sense of Place” will open to the public in October 2011.
