Children's Museum of the Ohio Valley

Purpose: Supporting Lifelong Learning The children's Museum of the Ohio Valley (CMOV) will create an interactive children's exhibit titled "Planets and Stars and ME…Oh My!" To accomplish this goal, CMOV will partner with the Center for Educational Technologies (home of the NASA Classroom of the Future) and the Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling Jesuit University. These agencies will guide the museum and aid in curriculum development, technical support, and exhibit design. The interactive exhibit will serve CMOV in two ways. First, CMOV will benefit from the funds generated by admissions, school tours, and memberships. These funds will allow the museum to continue its mission of providing hands-on learning experiences for children and their families. Second, in accordance with CMOV's strategic plan and to ensure the project's long-term sustainability, the museum will develop and implement a plan to use the exhibit as a continuing source of income by renting it to other museums. The exhibIt's portability will be taken into consideration during the design and fabrication process.
