The Republic of Palau will support professional development for library staff through travel to professional conferences augmented by a train-the-trainer model. To help library staff engage with new technologies, two librarians will attend a professional conference in the U.S. and then train their peers during a one week summer workshop. Library staff will also participate in the Pacific Islands Association of Libraries, Archives, and Museums (PIALA) conference to share information and learn from other library staff, as well as attend the biannual Pacific workshop organized by IMLS. To maintain important library infrastructure, grant funds will also support a license for three sites connected to the union catalog.
