Guam Public Library

Guam Public Library System, which serves the territory's entire island community, will use grant funds to support digitization and preservation of important historical materials. The library's collection includes a range of government documents, regional newspapers dating back to the 1940s, as well as images of historic interest to users. The project will digitize these materials for continued access by staff and patrons, as well as preserve the originals. Grant funds will support equipment and supplies for the scanning and preservation aspects of the project, which are new to the library. The project will also fund staff to attend the biannual Pacific workshop organized by IMLS.
