National Archives, Culture and Historic Preservation

The Federated States of Micronesia’s National Archives, Culture and Historic Preservation (NACH) will coordinate a Summer Reading Program for school children to retain and enhance reading skills. The program will consist of a kick-off event and weekly activities, including story hours and hands-on projects. Participants will set goals, maintain reading logs, and receive incentives to encourage them in their progress throughout the summer. Grant funds will support themed materials from the Collaborative Summer Library Program as well as minor administrative costs. The project seeks to motivate children and families to read for pleasure and acquaint them with public library resources.
