Alele Museum and Public Library

Log Number: LS-01-14-0061-14

Alele Museum, Public Library and National Archives will administer federally-funded library programs for the Marshall Islands through ongoing library computer training and connectivity projects. With its newly renovated library and computer lab, Alele will continue its intergenerational digital literacy offerings in partnership with organizations that serve the island’s aging population and youth. To ensure this program’s success, the library will pay for newly available fiber connectivity to bring higher bandwidth to library users. This will enhance their use of databases, e-books, online journals, and regularly scheduled virtual tours. As part of the project, Alele will also offer computer classes and book lending services at the local Retirees Center. Lastly, grant funds will support an annual subscription fee for EBSCOHost databases, provided through the regional Information Literacy Consortium.
