CNMI Joeten-Kiyu Public Library

Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, the designated State Library Administrative Agency for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will provide bookmobile outreach and digital literacy skills training to youth. It will particularly target public school students and youth at partner sites who have limited abilities in English, limited functional and digital literacy skills, and mobility barriers. By funding the bookmobile’s staff, collections, and a mobile hotspot, the project will extend the library’s services to outlying areas, at participating schools, youth and community centers, Head Start locations, as well as widely attended cultural and sporting events. Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will also encourage self-paced reading at schools and village communities using interactive PDFs, e-books, and media-enhanced titles on provided laptops.
