CNMI Joeten-Kiyu Public Library

Designated as the Northern Mariana Islands’ State Library, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will reach underserved populations through bookmobile outreach and digital literacy skills training. By funding the bookmobile’s staff, collections, and mobile hotspot, the project will extend the library’s services to outlying areas, at participating schools, youth and community centers, Head Start locations, and widely attended cultural and sporting events. Additionally, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will encourage self-paced reading at schools and village communities using interactive PDFs, e-books, and media-enhanced titles on provided laptops. The bookmobile will extend these digital literacy efforts through basic computer and Internet training.
