CNMI Joeten-Kiyu Public Library

Designated as the Northern Mariana Islands’ State Library, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will reach populations with limited English abilities, literacy skills, and transportation options through a multipronged bookmobile outreach project. With the addition of staff and collections as well as a mobile hotspot, the bookmobile will target underserved youth year round at schools, Head Start locations, and community centers, as well as widely attended cultural and sporting events. Its services will include circulation for books, audiovisual materials and laptops, as well as wireless Internet. The project will also facilitate book clubs in various neighborhoods, school campuses, and partner centers to further expand community literacy. It will enable library staff members to participate in regional conferences and further their professional development.
