Alele Museum and Public Library

Alele Museum, Public Library & National Archives, the designated State Library Administrative Agency for the Marshall Islands, will expand its technology training and book lending services to seniors and engage youth from a partner organization as computer trainers. Alele will build on the success of its onsite Retirees Computer Lab by extending technology training to a computer-ready senior facility adjacent to the library. It will also implement a twice-a-week mobile book lending service for this audience. The project will simultaneously engage local youth by identifying participants at a partner organization who can serve as computer trainers for these seniors and for their peers. In doing so, it will provide intergenerational sharing opportunities while increasing digital literacy among the Marshall Islands’ aging population.
