Guam Public Library

Log Number: LS-01-12-0059-12

Guam Public Library System, the main depository of federal and local materials on Guam, will preserve public law documents dating back to 1947 as well as original audio tapes of Guam Legislature sessions dating back to 1957. Through a combination of in-house and outsourced services, the project will transfer the fragile reel-to-reel and cassette recordings to another archival medium and digitize the aging public law documents. As a result, staff and public access to these materials will increase both by fixing them in more durable media and by inventorying them more accurately. Ultimately, the project will preserve these historical assets as part of Guam’s history and make them available to future generations.
