Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund will innovatively address the lack of preservation services in the New Orleans area, and across the country through a project that includes a preservation needs assessment of New Orleans libraries, archives and museums, followed by strategic planning for collaborative preservation services. The work will be conducted with the assistance of experts in various aspects of preservation, who will collaborate with a team of representatives from New Orleans cultural heritage institutions. The planning project will foster collaboration amongst libraries, archives, and museums and yield strategic planning documentation that can be used to pursue the goal of establishing a collaborative preservation facility that can serve as a model for others.
