Florida Association of Museums

The Florida Association of Museums will work collaboratively with the Florida Art Museum Directors Association, the Florida Department of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of State, the Florida Library Association, the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation, the Society of Florida Archivists, and the University of West Florida to develop emergency and collections plans, train staff and volunteers in enhanced collections practices, and develop self-sustaining collaborative cohort groups to help preserve and conserve collections. As resources are identified and developed during these shared learning experiences impacting 24 cultural institutions in four regions of the state, participants will share them through a detailed handbook in PDF format on a dedicated Web site that will be accessible to groups wishing to develop similar programs based on this model.
