Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts

The Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts will partner with LYRASIS, the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations, and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to improve collections care across all regions of the state by managing a preservation plan and providing educational and training support for the state’s 1,046 collecting institutions. Responding to needs identified during their statewide planning work, the partners will create an online communications template for use by collecting institutions throughout Pennsylvania and will establish a central clearinghouse Web site for collection and preservation information. Face-to-face training of collections care staff will take place through two conferences addressing disaster planning and environmental management with follow-up workshops held in each of the state’s eight regions.
