Alaska State Library

The Alaska Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums, in partnership with Alaska Historical Collections, Alaska Historical Society, Alaska State Archives, Alaska State Museum, Hoonah Indian Association, Museums Alaska, Tuzzy Consortium Library, and University of Alaska, Fairbanks, will hire a part-time planning coordinator to collect and database information on extant collections, collection managers, and available expertise in over 1000 collections holding entities in the state of Alaska. In addition, the coordinator will develop a grassroots volunteer network of individuals called the Archives Rescue Corps, which will work towards protecting the state’s treasured collections and will plan a series of meetings/workshops for 2009 focused on archival collections care.
