Vermont Historical Society

The Vermont Historical Society, in partnership with the Vermont Museum and Gallery Alliance, the Vermont Department of Libraries, the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, and Vermont State Archives, will survey the state’s collecting institutions, including 197 historical societies, 180 public libraries, 246 town and city offices, 14 county court offices, and 27 museums to determine their needs. The resulting survey report will make recommendations for future actions in the state, necessary funding to address the needs, raising community awareness about the importance and needs of collecting institutions, and building partnerships among these institutions.
