South Dakota School of Mines and Technology

The Hands-On Partnership (HOP) for Science, Literature, and Art in South Dakota will increase access to science, literature, and arts experiences by citizens of rural and reservation communities. The South Dakota State Library, Rawlins Municipal Library, Rapid City Arts Council/Dahl Fine Arts Center, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and the South Dakota Discovery Center and Aquarium will form Twenty-first-Century Learning Communities in a dozen South Dakota communities, with local libraries in a lead role. These communities will host traveling science exhibits and related science, literature, and art programs.
