The University of Kentucky will convene a series of forums over two years to create a comprehensive, distributed Central and Southern Appalachian monograph shared print collection. The project will address challenges in developing monograph collections that elevate traditionally marginalized voices by bringing together research libraries, publishers, and vendors to develop strategies, approaches, and solutions. Activities will include in-person and virtual forums, collaborative workshops, and strategy development. Deliverables will include a white paper, a replicable model for shared monograph collections, and a consortium of libraries committed to this initiative. Beneficiaries include libraries, scholars, and Appalachian communities. Subrecipient University of Tennessee, Knoxville will plan, organize, and facilitate the in-person forums and assist in disseminating project results through a white paper and conference presentations.
