Pennsylvania State University (Pennsylvania State University, University Libraries)
Log Number: LG-256598-OLS-24
The Pennsylvania State University will host a two-day national forum bringing together scholars and practitioners to establish consensus around national educational standards and professional competencies for privacy literacy education in libraries. Privacy literacy is gaining traction as a topic of library programming. In addition, there is an express need for comprehensive consensus standards to guide the creation and assessment of privacy literacy curricula across the Kâ20 educational spectrum. By convening experts who work on privacy literacy in public, school, and academic library contexts, this forum will advance an integrative and consensus-based model for the development, implementation, assessment, and staffing of privacy literacy efforts. Standards-based privacy literacy programming will enhance the efficacy and accessibility of privacy literacy education for diverse patron communities. Project results will be open-licensed and freely accessible.
