The University of Washington's Information School and Center for an Informed Public will develop a comprehensive, nationwide information literacy program that increases the capacity of public library staff and community members to address and navigate misinformation in their communities. The project team will consolidate and modify existing research and resources to develop a broad portfolio of research-informed information literacy products. The team will also create a series of misinformation seminars and a community of practice to provide library staff with opportunities to advance their knowledge of misinformation and exchange ideas for how to best increase information literacy nationally. Individual public libraries can build or extend the resulting portfolio of resources and professional development experiences based on the information needs of their communities.
