Log Number: LG-254859-OLS-23
Florida State University School of Information will examine how the placement of social workers in public libraries has impacted the role of the librarian and the scope of their professional work. The project will seek clarity about the experiences and perspectives of librarians regarding social services information, methods of social service transactions, understanding the boundaries between librarianship and social work, and gaining a better understanding of how librarians ideally see a need for assistance from social workers. The project team will produce a final project report, complete with actionable recommendations, and make it broadly available through professional association and state library listservs, as well as disseminate it via a Facebook project page to ensure results are freely accessible to practitioners.
