Internet Archive
Log Number: LG-250101-OLS-21
The Internet Archive, partnering with New York Art Resources Consortium, will create a cooperative, sustainable program that brings together art libraries and museums across the United States to scale capacity to coordinate curation and archiving of web-published primary source art and cultural heritage collections. The migration of valuable primary source material from analog to born-digital formats, disseminated primarily via the web, has shifted methodologies around collection creation and preservation for cultural heritage organizations, as well as research methodologies undertaken by art history scholars. This migration has also created opportunities for collaboration and shared curation services among cultural heritage organizations, along with unified discovery, access, and research support for the scholarly community. The project will expand discovery and use of these archives through the creation of a unified access portal of content from member collections.
