Field Museum of Natural History

This project will enhance the Field museum's program Cultural Connections. The current program is a partnership developed among 21 community-based ethnic museums and cultural centers. The Program's purpose is to increase intercultural dialogue and appreciation by developing a teacher's Guide for professional educators, creating an interactive multimedia Web site through expansion of the Cultural Connections program, and helping parents to talk to their children about cultural diversity. All aspects of the program are aimed at increasing the capacity of each partner to serve its communities. Through this project, the Field Museum will continue to show how a large, mainstream institution can develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with small institutions in diverse communities and leverage their resources to reach common goals.
