Sharlot Hall Museum

Log Number: LG-22-04-0188-04

The Sharlot Hall Museum will launch a regional discussion of place-based tourism, including the concepts of heritage tourism, ecotourism, and preservation/urbanism. The museum will work with three communities dependent on ecotourism and heritage tourism that are also working to rebuild their streetscapes. Each community will assemble a team that includes representatives from the museum, tourism, natural attractions, historic preservation, and city planning communities. Through a series of workshops, the teams will research the ways that heritage tourism, ecotourism, and urbanism can work together to create a sense of place. These ideas will then be tested in town halls. The museum will publish a research primer and host a conference to disseminate project results.
