Museum of Science, Boston

The Museum of Science, Boston, with its partners, WestEd Math and Learning Innovations, are creating a cluster of online and physical resources designed to provide educators in Massachusetts with the tools they need to create action plans for implementing new school standards that specifically focus on engineering and technology for K through 12 education. These tools include Web access to reviewed and evaluated educational resources, online activities of what the standards look like in the classroom, an online facilitated collaboration space for educators, a Web site for planning field trips, distance learning courses for educators, and onsite library access to instructional materials and equipment. The project will be a model of a museum taking its specific content expertise and teaming with the local school system to create practical applications in the classroom.
