USS Constitution Museum

The USS Constitution Museum will research how museums, particularly small history museums, can improve family learning in unfacilitated exhibit galleries. The museum will evaluate low-cost interactives and other exhibit components that encourage and enhance unfacilitated family learning. The museum will work with the Cooperstown Graduate Program to develop a family learning curriculum that will be offered to museum studies and museum education programs across the country. A steering committee of experts on family learning will guide the project, and a Web site, conferences, and publications will be used to disseminate the information and encourage feedback from small museums.
