National Aquarium

The National Aquarium in Baltimore proposes to partner with the Denver Zoo to continue development of Tracks, an integrated animal collection management system for the two organizations. Tracks allows data archival, retrieval, and analysis for all living collections, including group collection animals. Tracks, a relational database, will incorporate 11 functional sections, each of which will manage a different business process of animal collection management. Tracks will be the first collection management application to encompass and integrate the entire spectrum of animal care functions. The Tracks software will help provide a prototype and model for the American Zoo and Aquarium Association's efforts to develop a discipline-wide collections management system called the Zoological Information Management System.
