The Museum of Fine Arts Boston will enhance the Conservation and Art Materials Encyclopedia Online (CAMEO) a database of technical information on historic and contemporary materials used in the conservation, preservation, and production of artistic, architectural, and archaeological materials. The restructuring of the database will include a redesigned platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and ease of use. It will also include expanded coverage of the current 10,000 records. And it will include a new resource page for citations and images. The vision of the upgraded CAMEO is an innovative shared resource providing all users with chemical, physical, visual, and analytical information on materials found in and used in museums.
