Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation

The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center will support a partnership with the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum, the Wampanoag Indian Program at Plimoth Plantation, the Shinnecock Nation Cultural Center and Museum, the Penobscot Nation Cultural and Historical Preservation Department, the Upstate New York History Alliance, the National Museum for the American Indian, and the Navajo Nation Museum. Project activities include holding annual conferences, providing museum internships for members of the tribal community, and creating an Internet-based communication and support system. The project anticipates modeling to show both native and non-native museums how large and small museums can share knowledge and resources to build capacity.
