Pratt Museum

Log Number: LG-21-02-0135-02

The Pratt Museum, in collaboration with the City of Homer, Arctic Studies Center, Kachemak Bay Estuarine Research Reserve, Chugachmiut, Kachemak Bay Campus, Kenai Peninsula College, and the University of Alaska Anchorage will develop a comprehensive master plan for new exhibitions and public programs around the unifying topic of "people and place". In the form of community-based videos, photo essays, computer interactives, visitor-controlled remote video technology, and a website, the new exhibits will take visitors beyond museum walls to vignettes of contemporary life around Kachemak Bay and provide an intimate means of understanding people and place. Generous use of community collaborators in co-development of exhibits will empower local people, give voice to community, and insure regionally appropriate design.
