Walker Art Center

The Walker Art Center project will explore a new model for the museum audio guide. Using an industry standard interactive voice response system, the Walker will develop audio segments and event information that can be accessed through the Visitor's own cell phone. The development of Art on Call (AoC) will provide an alternative audio at a much cheaper rate than traditional programs. A voice menu will prompt callers to a short list of menu items, allowing visitors to chose their own path through the museum. Content will be developed from existing databases and archives. Evaluation of the technology and visitor usage will be done and reported both on the Walker Web site and at conferences.
