Maine Historical Society

The Maine Historical Society will further develop their project, Maine Memory Network, a statewide digital museum that will enable historical societies, museums, libraries, and other cultural institutions across the state to upload and manage digital copies of artifacts, images, and documents from their collections into one centralized, web-accessible database. The project will provide local cultural organizations with software, training, and support to assist them in scanning, uploading, cataloguing, and managing items from their collection. Grant funds will go towards developing the interpretive features and exhibits, and K-12 resources. This network of cultural resources will provide educators, students, and the general public with unprecedented access to historical collections throughout Maine.
