The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group (EIG) from Arizona State University (ASU) will help libraries in Arizona and elsewhere offer innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration spaces (ICE) through both a physical and a virtual network that supports the creation of new innovations and aids economic development through the creation of new startup companies. Through the Alexandria Co-Working Network (ALEX) , ASU will offer entrepreneurial education, training to library staff, access to a distributed mentor pool, and a platform which libraries can use to serve the entrepreneurial community. Specific project activities include building the technical infrastructure of ALEX, free teen and adult coding and software public programming, classes at Phoenix Public Library branches to help patrons learn and develop technical and software skills, and training for library staff to gain knowledge about programming and partnerships.
