Minnesota Historical Society

The Minnesota Historical Society will provide new geography teachers with the tools they need to meet the state's graduation standards for geography through workshops instructing them how to find and use the many geographic resources available online. The project will greatly enhance the value of the state's digital resources by integrating the application of technologies with the needs of students and teachers in grades 4 through 12. Project products will include a Web-based geospatial information system (GIS) tool with examples that demonstrate the rich variety of stories geographic information tells. An online curriculum package and repository of the geographic narratives students and teachers will create will also be provided.
