The Fondren Library will develop the Travelers in the Middle East Archive (TIMEA)--a digital archive of narratives documenting travel to the Middle East published between the eighteenth and early twentieth centuries--along with related images and interactive maps. This archive will facilitate defined searching and analysis within and across texts and will integrate images, maps, and text. To make the archive easier and more effective to use in teaching, learning, and research, the project team will employ Connexions, a community-driven approach to authoring, teaching, and learning that seeks to provide free access to a cohesive body of high-quality educational content to anyone in the world.
