In this two-year demonstration project, "Peabody Digital Audio Archives Project ," the Milton S. Eisenhower Library will create a workflow management system prototype for digitizing an estimated 10,000 analog audio tapes and building a web-accessible digital audio library. It will also develop audio segmentation software to automatically separate pieces and movements within a piece and establish a database for scientific studies on such topics as music information retrieval, tempo tracking, and performance style analysis.
