In this one-year demonstration project, the University of California-Riverside, in conjunction with the Librarians' Index to the Internet, the Internet Public Library, the BUBL (originally Bulletin Board for Libraries) Information Service, and the Virtual Reference Library, will research and create open source software tools to enhance functionality and interoperability in a collaborative portal system environment.
