The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) will develop a national clearinghouse for library education and training opportunities, to be hosted and maintained by WebJunction. In this Phase I project, OCLC will develop the technical infrastructure for the clearinghouse, establish procedures for contributing content and maintaining currency, and populate the clearinghouse with course information from American Library Association-accredited library schools. This will provide the infrastructure for later development of a searchable database of information about for-credit and not-for-credit digital courses offered by library schools, as well as library-specific scholarships and continuing education grants; and provide information about digital training modules available through library schools, state library agencies, and OCLC regional networks.
