Historic Elitch Theatre

The Historic Elitch Theatre will expand its capacity to store, preserve, and display its collection of historic artifacts. Consisting of objects and ephemera from the theater’s 135-year history, the collection promotes lifelong learning for visitors of all ages. Project activities include the purchase of display cases, a wall-mounted touchscreen, and additional interpretive materials. The museum will work closely with the community to develop engaging exhibitions that help visitors learn more about the historic building’s legacy and the history of Denver, Colorado. Project results will include improved collections care, enhanced interpretation, and expanded public access to the theater’s history. Primary beneficiaries of this project are the museum’s visitors, including adults, students, local residents, and visitors to Denver.
