Art Museum of Southeast Texas
Log Number: IGSM-256082-OMS-24
The Art Museum of Southeast Texas will continue a multi-year project to photograph and digitize its permanent collection. Building on previous IMLS grants that produced digital photographs for over 30% of the collection, this final phase of the project will result in the photography of an additional 200 two-dimensional works of art. Museum staff, working in tandem with a contracted photographer and a professional art framer, will photograph artworks, produce condition reports, and reframe artworks as necessary. Staff will upload the images of the artwork to its collections database and make the 200 catalog entries freely available to the public online. This will allow the museum to increase accessibility of the collection for the benefit of researchers and the public.
