Chesapeake Children's Museum

Log Number: IGSM-256030-OMS-24

The Chesapeake Children’s Museum will establish a series of programs to inspire connections and creativity by exploring history, culture, and expression through music. The museum will offer hands-on workshops, music-related activities, concerts, and presentations on-site and at area schools and other community spaces. The project team will initiate stakeholder engagement, facilitate programming, and purchase supplies and instruments for use in workshops. Museum staff will contract with professional performers and instructors representing a range of cultural and music traditions including Native American, African American, West African, and Latin American. The project aims to promote creative thinking, enhance problem-solving skills, and foster appreciation of cultural expression through music. Beneficiaries include program participants, with an emphasis on children, caregivers, and families that are economically disadvantaged.
