Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin (Lac Courte Oreilles Migizi Cultural Resources Center)

The Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Museum and Visitor Center will undertake a capacity-building project to strengthen operations and enhance sustainability. The museum serves as a community archive and preserves the history, culture, traditions, and values of the Lac Courte Oreilles Anishinaabe. Project activities will include reviewing and updating collections and facility policies and procedures and developing a public relations plan, capital development plan, and 5-year strategic plan. Museum staff and advisory board members will attend online training courses and engage with a consultant to facilitate strategic planning. The project will result in museum-trained staff, increased use of museum resources, and a broader base of support to sustain future growth. The primary beneficiaries of this project are Tribal community members, museum visitors, and researchers.
