Arlington Historical Society

The Arlington Historical Society will build upon a previous IMLS project to inventory, digitize, and rehouse over 16,000 objects that are currently at the most at risk for potential collections management issues. This subset of the museum's collection includes archival materials, photographs, books, ceramics glass, and textiles. Planned activities include the installation of high-density rolling storage units, digitizing items, updating catalog records, and rehousing collections. Digitized items and their associated metadata will be added to the museum's collections management system and uploaded to an online platform permitting increased access for educators, researchers, and the public.
