San Luis Obispo Museum of Art

Log Number: IGSM-255797-OMS-24

The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art will host a bilingual exhibition and related programming highlighting emerging Latina artist Deanna Barahona. The project aligns with a key goal noted in the museum’s recent Museum Assessment Program (MAP) report to diversify its exhibitions and provide opportunities for underrepresented artists. Project activities include exhibition installation, developing a series of adult and family-friendly workshops and programs, and organizing school group tours.  The museum will build upon its partnership with California Polytechnic State University’s Latinx/e Center for Academic Success and Achievement and the Latino Outreach Council to create joint programming. The project will expand the museum’s public engagement and offer visitors new perspectives on the Latino experience in America.
