The Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University will engage in a project to explore how art museums can contribute to the advancement of health and well-being. In response to the recent rise in levels of depression, anxiety, and loneliness in university and community populations, the museum hopes to demonstrate the potential of museums to support mental and physical well-being. The project will result in an exhibition, associated educational programming, and an academic convening on advancing health and well-being through the arts. The museum will partner with campus and community organizations to develop a framework of evaluation to capture measurable outcomes. The project will serve museum professionals, educators, health practitioners, and students seeking alternative methods to reduce stress and anxiety.
