Lake County Forest Preserves (Bess Bower Dunn Museum)

The Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County will initiate a community-led project to integrate Latino history and culture into the museum’s permanent exhibition through new interpretation, displays, and Spanish language audio guides. Museum staff will identify and work to fill gaps in the collection, purchase exhibition supplies and materials, and contract with a project advisor and audiovisual consultant. The museum will partner with the College of Lake County’s Latino Alliance Student Organization and the Latino Advisory Group to better understand the viewpoints, values, and needs of the local Latino community. The project will enhance the accessibility and relevance of the museum and its offerings and help tell a more comprehensive Lake County story for all visitors.
